Behind me

The complications of the day are behind me now.

The consultant I was due to see first thing this morning was running late and didn’t turn up. I was in danger of running out of time and was sent in to see a different consultant, who then decided he couldn’t help me today and arranged for me to see my original consultant next Wednesday. So I got away in the nick of time for the next stage.

Home, changed and drove towards church to begin setting up for the thanksgiving service for our young friend of 26.

I had a great team. All with specific jobs and they all worked hard as we prepared to welcome and then later feed 300+ people. The church filled up, the service really was a thanksgiving service even though it was an awful day for the family particularly. Nathan spoke really well about Gods will and eternal life.

A mass clear up after the vast family left and then a charge up the A10 for the last lake swim before the big swim in France this weekend.

That done and timing still to plan, the intention had been to join the grieving family in their garden for a BBQ. Elbows, LongLegs and DougsJB were there already. HatBox, PuddleDuck and NoaNoa had all been there for the service but had to leave earlier.

But I made the questionable decision to go home to MightyMouse who was home alone, having had 2 GCSEs today and another tomorrow morning. It didn’t seem right to leave him alone so back home I went.

And now this day is behind me and I am very grateful.

MightyMouse had English Lit and Economics GCSEs today.
