A nature walk along the River Yon
A warm, breezy day, spot on for a walk along the footpath beside the river. A boulder/ stony area in and out of the water with patches of yellow lilies. Also caterpillars climbing up threads hanging from branches - in some cases dozens on one fine thread - and a good variety of wild flowers. Also a pair of beetles on an oak leaf. Phoebe enjoyed the walk and all the sniffs along the way. Certainly a place to look for again.
At the start of the walk is a small restaurant, we arrived back at 2.00, the same time as the sewage collecting lorry arrived, we decided to give it a miss today.
Extras:
A poor photo of a caterpillar on its thread, also John pointing out a pretty white flower in a tree, a sweet smell when close up. We wondered if it was Acacia? Will take a look on line. I looked up caterpillars climbing a thread and beetles on an oak tree leaf however felt unsure of information to write about either.
And finally Cleo the fluffy, little female, she is a character and full of mischief.
