Amsterdam to Copenhagen
This is a late posting.
We had an early start this morning as our train left Amsterdam Centraal at 7am bound for Isnabrück, where we changed for a train to Hamburg. We were 17 minutes late into Isnabrück, which actually didn’t matter as the train from Isnabrück to Hamburg was half an hour late and then disappeared off the board completely. The next two trains were also late and eventually we caught the second train of the trio, but an hour later than it was meant to depart. This also had a knock-on effect on the Hamburg to Copenhagen connection, which we were due to catch at 12:23. Instead, we left Hamburg at 14:53 on a train to Fredericia in Denmark, where we changed to a train to Copenhagen. We arrived in Copenhagen at 20:49 instead of 17:56 - three hours late.
We managed to find our hotel after wandering around for a few minutes longer than necessary. We were delighted when we opened the door to our room. It’s really lovely. We dropped our bags and went downstairs to the bar for a well-deserved drink after a stressful day of travel. The German train system just isn’t what it used to be, sadly. The doors to the lift in the reception are look like bookcases and are reflected in the mirrored ceiling above.
The main blip shows various stations and things we saw on our long journey today. The extra is of our hotel.
