Fun!

Before tea I popped into pottery to see if a couple of pieces had come out of the bisque firing intact, one had a couple of fine cracks that appeared as it dried.  It came out fine.   However, what really caught my eye was this fun birdbath that one of my fellow potters is making.  I just love these cheeky frogs!

A long and busy day at Aber cafe.  The main event was a train of special guests celebrating Founder's Day, 14th May.  On this date in 1950, the first train of the railway preservation era ran from Tywyn to Rhydyronen after a group of enthusiasts had been given the chance to try and rescue the railway from a future at the scrapyard.  The rest is history and we are all grateful to those who had the crazy idea of taking over a derelict Victorian railway.  There was also a crew filming for a children's TV series plus three well patronised service trains.

I had a snooze on the sofa when I got home and after eating at Jamie's and another sunset walk for Meg, a quiet night in.
