The Front Yard (Saturday 13th May 2023)

These aquilegias have self-seeded in the Front Yard and on the driveway and have come up every year since before I moved in. There are many different variations of this plant, formerly known as granny's bonnet or columbine, so I suppose they can't all be classified as wildflowers.
Wikipedia defines a wildflower as "a flower that grows in the wild, meaning it was not intentionally seeded or planted. The term implies that the plant is neither a hybrid nor a selected cultivar that is any different from the native plant, even if it is growing where it would not naturally be found". I believe that this is the native form (aquilegia vulgaris), named from an eagle, but in medieval times it symbolised a flight of doves. In Extras is another self-seeded aquilegia that has sprung up through the tarmac on the driveway but is also found in the Woodland Garden.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Pacifica - Anita (2023)
These two charismatic Argentinian girls have been uploading songs on You Tube for quite a long while now, but at last they seem to have record deal and have beefed up their sound. This is very catchy but I hope they haven't lost what made them so great in the process thanks to record company management.
