Rubbish research

I am researching designs for the storage of rubbish bags for our new housing scheme.

This system looks neat and tidy, but I think a roof and shelter round the bins would be good, thinking of the Orkney climate.

I'd like to find a design which is both useful and attractive/interesting to look at.

Ideally I would need to go on a tour of the UK (and beyond?), taking photos of household rubbish storage areas...
In the meantime, any ideas from Blippers will be gratefully received :-)
