"We're just going to buy bamboo stakes" ....

.... ha.  Some hope.  

Another busy day.  J arrived early, but A hadn't been (torrential rain at times yesterday) to fill in the trench.  So J suggested leaving it till Friday to install our robot mower (to be henceforth known as Husky), but gave us some suggestions regarding protection of the trees.

Later, A arrived, and did an excellent job of filling the trench.

Then we popped to the garden centre to buy the bamboo stakes needed to protect the young trees.  And of course we bought other things, including these two little side tables so we can enjoy our drinks on the patio.  We also bought another shrub that caught my eye - a variegated Metrosideros.
