Trapezaki beach
The taxi picked me up at 3.30 and I was drinking coffee in Glasgow airport by 4.15. And now I’m on one my favourite islands, Kephalonia, right below Mount Ainos, where the eagles fly. It’s the first time I’ve been here this early in the summer and it is a delight, flowers everywhere, deserted beaches and slightly unpredictable weather which is perfect for walking.
Meanwhile at home there has been a drama to do with water ingress in the next block so my flat, notwithstanding the plague situation, has been gratefully commandeered by P’s school friend who would otherwise have had to postpone her visit. In exchange she’s going to lend me her season ticket for Kew Gardens next time I’m in London.
The connectivity is practically non-existent here except in the minuscule bar area where a delicious gyros and local wine has set me back €5. I might have a second glass. Two hours ahead here so I’m ready for bed after a middle of the night start.
