Loaded for what?

Some  of the delicacies on offer had me baffled ,I've no idea what this means.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the market place, the "musical entertainment" was getting going. Ten yards from the stage the sound level was way over the pain threshold, yet some strange people were standing with their ears almost inside the speakers. Perhaps they were already deaf from previous events
