Lavender in the (unforecast) sunshine

The day started grey and damp, and the forecast suggests a significant chance of rain every day for the next 10 days.  Oh well - we have plenty to do inside!

Anyway, we drove over to Waterford, hoping for some knowledgeable advice on WiFi extenders in Harvey Norman.  We’ve previously been very impressed with the service, and the knowledge of the assistants.  Unfortunately, today we drew the short straw, and got a lad who was keen to help, but really didn't seem to know much more than us.  We've bought two, on the understanding that if they don't do the job they're intended for, we can take them back.

Whilst we were in the shop, the weather really improved, and continued to improve as we did more shopping.

By the time we had partaken of a late lunch, and driven home, the sun was shining brightly.  Our PV panels were producing over 6kW, and most of it was going to the grid, so we switched on the immersion heater.  Not sure what we can do tomorrow to use our free power - perhaps lots of baking.

The lavender is one of the few items other than grass and hedging that was in this garden when we arrived.

Our neighbours must be celebrating something this weekend - probably not the event featuring widely on UK blips - perhaps a birthday.  They have a bouncy castle/water slide, and there is much shouting and squealing.  But fortunately the dog yapping is only intermittent.
