If you go down to the woods today,
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the woods today,
You'd better go in disguise.
You'll find students from Southampton University Wireless Society hard at work. As Adam said they must be serious they had tea rather than beer.
Lovely day so we had a walk in the New Forest. As we pulled into the car park I thought we were going be in the middle of a party. Actually the tables, laptops and equipment were to do with G3KMI the University Amateur Radio Club. Amateur Radio is a hobby that involves using high-power radio communication equipment to talk to people that could be on the other side of the world. You can build and modify your own kit and even send TV pictures. I can do that in the comfort of my own home (and with a beer) but I suppose I shouldn't moan at students being out in the fresh air.
We have been having a bit of a clear out and this weekend we put roof bars from a car we no longer have, a lawn mower that doesn't have a collecting box and a 10mx1.5m of bubble wrap left over from lining inside the greenhouse on Freecycle and all have been disposed of. I also found homes for some old lino flooring and a pile of bricks and a pallet. Just a load of Home Building and Renovating magazines to go now.
