Rijksmuseum
Amsterdam
The Vermeer exhibition tickets were booked back in February, just as well since it was sold out. It was an early start for 9.15 am entry but we were up and ready. Wonderful exhibition.
We then had the rest of the day to explore the Rijksmuseum collection (we did pause for lunch).
The Nightwatch is currently in a perspex box ("Magneto style") because it is undergoing stretching as part of long term restoration. This had the benefit that people couldn't gather too close to it, so we got a good view.
Lots of other fantastic works of art and curious objects. We didn't leave until they were making the closing announcements (and still didn't see everything).
A pause sitting in the sunshine in the museum gardens before heading back for the night.
