Begijnhof

Amsterdam 

Morning in the Van Gogh museum, it was sold out for the day so glad to have booked tickets in advance.

Explored the gardens around the Rijksmuseum then headed down Nieuwe Spiegelstraat browsing the antique shop windows.

Paused for (a late) lunch by the flower market. Decided to wander where our feet took us and stumbled across the peace of Begijnhof. The church is now part of the Church of Scotland.

Wandered toward De 9 Straatjes district. A visit to the tulip museum to learn about how tulips came to Europe, how they are cultivated and tulip mania. Nice wander back along canals in the sunshine - though crossing any road seems fraught with danger.
