The oystercatchers

I was in a meeting at school, this morning, and in amongst the regular agenda items, the Head mentioned that a pair of oystercatchers were nesting on the astroturf.

It was rather heart-warming to hear how the PE staff had put a barrier around the nest and also rescheduled activities so as not to disturb the birds.

After work, I went for a run - which is when I took today's Blip, from Devil's Bridge - and I came back via the astroturf. In my Extra you can see one of the oystercatchers patrolling their border.
