New Paints!

This is yesterday - I did my Blip late and then stupidly lost the write up and couldn’t be arsed doing it again so here I am in bed at 6am repeating the whole thing - apart from this bit!

My gouache paints arrived. 
I’ve never used gouache before so I’ve been watching some tutorials on YouTube then tried out the colours and and sketched a bit to get some ideas on paper. I have lots of ideas but on paper they don’t look like whats in my head! I want to do bright and quirky but it’s hard when you are by nature a perfectionist. Loosen up Lizzie!

I cleaned the upstairs as we are having a visitor from Scotland to stay overnight. Liz is a music friend from near Thornhill and she and 6 other musicians - mainly fiddlers but some singers are coming down to play in our local for our monthly session. The rest are staying in the pub. I’ve been practising uke like mad so I can sing 2 or 3 songs. I sometimes harmonise on a couple of Liz’s songs. Should be fun! The locals are looking forward to a Scottish night!
