A German in Newark

I met another Lib Dem candidate for the Newark & Sherwood council district elections( for another ward). I decided to support him as requested by the chair having looking at ward stats and having talked to to the both chair and another local activist (Labour).

I felt from the moment I met him, we were on the same wavelength and have very similar outlook and values. Originally from Bavaria. married to a woman from the US they have ended up in Newark, having previously worked in central London. He seemed to have an impressive value driven career with a great attitude to public service, democracy and a broad range of skills to match. 

With meticulous typical Germanic attention to detail he's asked me to leaflet drop/ campaign with detailed instructions (eg excluding homes with no-one registered to vote).

Excited to be actively helping, albeit with a large switch required in this ward to win; who knows what the result will be.
