ANZAC Day 2023. Lest we forget…..

ANZAC Day services have been held all around New Zealand today.
Lest we forget….. For me, the tragedy of Gallipoli and it’s aftermath resounds in the words attributed to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk….. “Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives, you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace…… You, the mothers who sent their sons from faraway countries, wipe away your tears, your sons are now lying in our bosoms and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they become our sons as well”…..
We will never forget.
