Scenes from everyday life

Mottisfont Abbey

Clare and I have decided to take off for the country for the bank holiday. It was all settled at the last minute, so it's nothing fancy. We're staying in a Premier Inn on the outskirts of Salisbury and looking to take in a few historic houses.

Driving down from London this afternoon we called in at Mottisfont Abbey, a National Trust place, where I was attracted by this avenue of trees.

Mottisfont is famous for its rose gardens but the roses aren't in bloom yet.
