After the rain
Sunday was wet and miserable, a day for staying in. After lunch we chatted on Zoom to my brother, sister-in-law and nephew, then played Outsmarted, J's online quiz game, together. It's a board game which players can join remotely, with the questions appearing on the computer screen and the app, and it allows the host to set the ages of the participants, so mixed age groups can play together.
Around teatime the rain stopped. Everything was very wet when I walked up the lane, with huge puddles across the main road and pavement, but I tiptoed round them and was rewarded with a few minutes of low evening sunlight. I also found the gate to our friends' small wood open, and couldn't resist going a little way in. It will be open throughout bluebell season, and is beautiful. The light was too low for photos and the path was very sticky after the rain, but it was lovely to be surrounded by a carpet of bluebells and I look forward to returning on the next dry day.
