Beauty is all around us.

Old trees, dry stone walls and River Sprint.

We had sunny weather this morning, so after breakfast we went to visit Holehird Gardens in Windermere, a beautiful place well tended by experienced volunteers and near the Leonard Cheshire Home. It is one of our very favourite places in Cumbria.
We strolled around the rock garden and the pink camellia trees were resplendent with the most beautiful pink flowers. The paths had been re done and improved the experience of walking there and for anyone with a pram or wheelchair. Then we walked around the Tarn, a lovely oval lake, where we saw a pair of swans and an immaculately made swan's nest. A huge tree branch had fallen in the tarn. The path was bejewelled with yellow celandines, wild bluebells and six petalled white flowers called wood anemones. The first two light blue meconopsis flowers had opened. Holehird holds the national collection. They are delicate and beautiful with the sunlight illuminating them.
Most of my photos are on my compact Canon camera but this one is on my Galaxy tablet as it is easier to post on blip.
Where the trees are on the ridge, the farmer said roe deer can be found there, but we have not seen any as yet.
We saw a pair of pied wagtails and a grey squirrel.
It is hard work opening and carefully closing the heavy farm gates. I did that fives times going out and five times coming back from Booths. The sheep were good and moved away from our car.
Watching Ben Fogle now and then it's teatime.
Thank you for visiting blip friends and have a lovely evening.
