Of Kings And Dreams.......

Rain was in the morning's forecast and we did get splashed just a little as we were preparing to go to church , but we had a dry and well-lit place to gather at FBC  to join our hearts and voices in congregational worship and praise to God.  After the welcome from Bro. Chris, the choir, orchestra and all our dedicated accompanists affirmed the faithfulness of God in times of trial and trouble as we presented the favorite gospel-style anthem,"He Never Failed Me Yet" with Julie T. leading out on the solo verses.  After more corporate worship and praise, Pastor Wes took us to Chapter Two of Daniel where dreams and drama ensue.  The king had a dream that troubled him, so he consulted with the wise men of his court, commanding them to tell him what he had dreamed and what it meant.  The king's wise men declared that to be an impossible task, so the king got angry and was ready to kill them all, including Daniel and his three friends, all of them little more than teenagers.  Daniel and his friends prayed that God would allow Daniel to use his God-given gift of interpreting dreams to satisfy the king's command and demonstrate God's sovereignty over the affairs of the world.  Spoiler alert----he is successful!  Of course, Pastor Wes took us through the dream and its interpretation in detail, which you can see in the Live-stream. It is quite interesting and would be worth your time to watch,  At the end of the service, the newest group to finish the New Member class was introduced to the congregation.  And, I personally received a blessing when I saw someone who has been ill and unable to attend in person in a long time and got a chance to hug her and tell her how much I have missed her.  Maybe someone needs the blessing of seeing you at FBC next week........
