Monthly Ramble Club
We walked about 7 miles around Glenridding with a small amount of climbing. We had expected better weather, but it was cloudy and dull most of the time. Some of the others had gone to climb Helvellyn, but one of them found it too much and became disorientated. It took him awhile to get down and he needed a fair amount of assistance. The coach had to pick him up at a different place. Unfortunately, the delay meant that we couldn't get to our chosen pub in time, and we all missed our dinner. At least Roger recovered and seemed to be okay.
The weather was very poor at the top of Helvellyn and the walkers didn't get any decent views. As you can see, we didn't climb very high at all. We climbed a little higher than this, but not much.
