Fruitful
The rain cleared for a while this morning, and I walked to the village. Along the way I passed many Pandanus trees, which are now bearing large dramatic fruit. I photographed one, and later tweaked it in Prisma.
I blipped Pandanus fruit in August last year and have blipped the whole plants many times, including this one from May 2021.
There are many species of Pandanus, mainly in Asia and the Pacific. Our local one is P. tectorius, which grows along the north-east coast from around here to Cape York. It typically grows only metres from the shoreline. The fruit was widely used by indigenous people, who cooked it to remove toxins.
