Beloved people

First thing you're probably wondering is what Leo the cat is doing up my professor's skirt. Apparently he was licking her toes, hahaha. Yes, Leo is a beloved person - but also there is (from left to right) Megan, me, Roxanne, Amy, and Renée. These are three of the closest friends I made during my undergraduate career .... and Amy has been a true mentor, inspiration and "research mama" figure for me.

Being in a research laboratory was an important experience. Best of all, I got to make close friendships with other people passionate about research, who are not intimidated by my nerdiness or intellectual interests. Tonight, we had a great party to celebrate (for a second time) my graduation from university (B.A.). Now I truly feel graduated and ready to move on to my PhD. With gratitude, awe and some bittersweet tenderness for the people I have come to love and who love me in return. Thankfully, I won't be very far away! Hope to have many more gatherings and parties in future.
