Book launch

Another sunny day so a walk around the village followed by reading in the sun. Mr C got his tatties in.

This evening I went to the village hall for Clive’s book launch. I have known his wife Joan for years as she’s a member of the book group so I wanted to give them my support.

In 2016 they got an electric car and decided to make a journey round the forgotten edges of England - the poorer areas which had voted overwhelmingly for Brexit. They wanted to see how they could manage with finding charge points - not well - and to write about the areas they went to. Clive is an academic who taught religious studies in Africa and lectured in Geography at a university here. He is very climate-crisis-conscious and prefers to travel by train or ship rather than fly.
