Nicky and her Nikon

On a sparkling pond

It was lovely and sunny this morning, but still chilly. I enjoyed my walk with Xena this morning, she was in a playful mood and played with quite a few dogs that we met - other days she can just ignore them. The swan was at the edge of the pond hissing at all the dogs walking past. I had to marvel at the audacity - or was it stupidity? - of a great big lumbering Labrador, he seemed not to notice the swan hissing at the dogs walking past, and dived straight into the water right next to the swan. The dog hardly seemed to notice the swan as he was swimming out after a stick, but the swan rose up and was flapping its enormous wings and hissing wildly, for a moment I thought there would be a battle scene, but once the said stick was retrieved the dog swam back to shore and quickly got out.

After our walk, Laura, who house-sits and looks after Xena when we go away (when she is available as she is booked up nearly two years in advance for peak holiday times!) came by as she had asked me to do some product photography for her website. She also bakes biscuits for dogs that she sells on her website, and she wanted better photos of her products. I have never done product photography before and I don't have a lightbox, but I have lights and so we made do. In the extras is an example of one of her products, she has about 10 flavours in the range. Xena was spoilt and given so many bags of biscuits plus some personalised ones with her name on them as in the second extra.

I downloaded the new updates to Camera Raw/Lightroom/Photoshop yesterday. In CR/LR there is now an AI denoise filter similar to Topaz DeNoise. It works brilliantly, I think better than DeNoise, but it takes ages to process one file.

It has now turned cloudy and even cooler, with rain forecast for tomorrow - when will it warm up?
