New life

Yesterday was an exciting day.  I had to stay in for a delivery and it arrived within the time frame advised - 11:58 - 12:58.  I am now the owner of a new telephoto lens albeit a used one.  I had to try it out so l went over to Boxer's Lake to check out the herons.  The baby herons were out and standing together on a branch in full view, trying out their flying and landing techniques (not quite perfected yet - extra 1).  I was speaking to a birder who said the male swan was a new one the other having died of avian flu last year.

My new lens is quite heavy and l need to work on focus but is going to be fun.
