Poppy (and A)

Did some admin and odd jobs this morning before an early lunch as I was meeting A for a run in the afternoon.
We went to Templeton Woods and ran about 5k while her husband took Poppy for a walk. We'd done nearly 4k when Poppy suddenly bounded up, she must have smelt A at a point where are paths weren't too far apart. After a wait for her to be collected we continued round the next bit of woods before heading back to the car and then the cafe.
I wasn't long at home when it was time to go out again for the group run, another 5k in a different bit of park and woods.
I'm still quite breathless but this evening was a bit quicker, so that's encouraging, and got better after the first half.
Then a meeting and home at 9pm - still not dark.
They've been resurfacing the road to our estate and it's taking much longer than stated. You hear of roads being dug up soon after they've been re-done but this is the first time I've seen one being dug up again before it's even finished!
