On Our ‘Weiry’ Way

My arm is still not comfortable enough to drive to any distance so we are somewhat limited on walking. Our Sunday perambulation started from Roseburn, well mine did but J walked down from deepest Morningside but that’s normal for her being her usual way to work pre-retiral. We headed down to Crammond via some of the old railway tracks/paths that we did last time. Our route took us through Ravelston, Craigleith, Blackhall down to Silverknowes then through Barnton and the path that runs between the Burgess & Bruntsfield golf courses then across to the path that runs by the river Almond down to mouth of the river at Crammond where the above weir is. It wasn’t too wearying on the way down but the drag back Barton Gardens was. We rivived ourselves with coffee and cake at Davidson’s Mains and a walk along the main street to pick up the same path back up to Roseburn. It wasn’t as long a walk as we did last time but I still clocked up some 30 000+ steps. Weather was dry and it seems like the temperature was warmer but not down by the sea, so we too a wee break at the roman camp site next to Crammond Kirk. Another nice walk, but it will be nicer when I can drive a bit more comfortably.
