Over the Horizon

Birth-day

I snapped this shot at dawn with the sunrise over the lake. A new day, and a new year. Another revolution of the seasons since I came into this world. My birthday and 27 years now. Like the silky smooth, blurred, and half shrouded light of the dawn, so to is my life now. An ideal metaphor. Things aren't quite into focus yet, but they are clearing and the sun is breaking out.

..and so I reflect, celebrate, and express gratitude for another year. And a wild one at that, surely one of the most exciting up and down topsy turvy adventurous years so far. Patient waiting for life to unravel as it should, when it should. Fixed on the horizon, unattached and excited. Reading the signs and seeing one staring right back at me scribbled on the cabin wall by some long gone previous boarder here. And it reads;

"Don't forget to drift occasionally"....indeed
