Braai time

Described as a Chinese/Mongolian braai, and what a great idea. The food was great, the company fun, and the antics of the three dogs hysterical.

Bullet is a two year old, full of energy, but a seriously intelligent soul who sat beside one of Maretha’s nieces for most of the afternoon, very protective of the young girl with her foot in an orthopedic boot following a gymnastics accident.

Some entertainment from Henk and Maretha’s eldest son, his own take on Norwegian Wood, was lovely.

We got a bit of a history lesson from one guy who is writing a book about Hillbrow, and the Windy Brow theatre. I had done some work there a few years ago so it was great to have a better understanding of the beautiful old property recently renovated.

What a great weekend it’s been.
