A stressful day

Just when you think the SA government cannot reach new depths, they do.

We are in the first month of the new financial year when service funding agreements are signed and the planning of services done.

Well, not this year. The Department of Social Development is pulling its funding from NGOs. No warning, no time to prepare, just pulled.

So, our Social Workers and Home Based Care Workers, who do fabulous work, are all out of a job by the end of this month. Bad enough for them, but it’s our beneficiaries who are going to pay the biggest price of no care, which for many will mean a pretty sad rest of their lives.

I despair!!
