The fanfare

It was time to leave l'Escala and make our way back home to the other side of the Pyrenees. It was just a short drive back and we did a bit of shopping at the new border shopping centre at La Jonquera for cheap provisions. Earlier we had a lovely final lunch out. It was our second meal at this restaurant that has very high ratings on Trip Advisor. The three courses were superbly prepared. I had a tagliatelle, shrimp and mushroom starter, salmon en papillote followed by a vanilla caramel pudding in a Muscadet sauce. I could not believe it was only ?13.50 including wine.

We even got a fanfare send off from the band on the seafront.
