Diary of an Edinburgher

NO DOG PEE!

Today we went down to the shop we were headed to yesterday, but we went the other direction, though JR went there in the afternoon. It’s where I got my favourite (now shrunken) hat many years ago. I set off on the bus and walked down the Mile. Crowded. Everybody seemed to be in a ‘Walking Tour’ group. The (silly) man who does the sword swallowing on the Mile had a nasty accident the other day… which is why I always rushed by him…

I perused the shop in two minutes flat, there were no hats that I fancied. I went and sat outside a nearby pub to await Archie and JR. We then took another route home, but came to a wee cafe that welcomed dogs. A very nice couple of lemon poppy seed scones were enjoyed, then we walked home. (5,134 steps). Well, we got to the Meadows, and my bus was less than 10 minutes away, so I waited for it, while the others took a longer route round the park. Home in time for the Scotland/France rugby match. I predicted a score of 50-0, but it was 55-0.

We passed this rather splendid shop/studio, with the ‘NO DOG PEE!’ signs. Fortunately, Archie can read.
