An Unexpected Duck

Our last day here in Suffolk, and the weather this morning was grim - heavy rain and bitterly cold wind. It cleared up a bit at lunchtime so we went out for a couple of hours onto Sizewell beach and estate. We were very pleasantly surprised to see this Garganey on a pool in the salt marsh. There was also a herd of deer in the woodland, and plenty of seabirds, including a large breeding colony of kittiwake along the coast, and a glimpse of a kestrel and a peregrine over the power station, but very little in the way of smaller birds to be seen in the cold and windy conditions.
It looks as though our move is going to be a couple of weeks later than anticipated. I'll certainly be glad when that's all sorted. Apologies for the lack of comments. I'll try and get back onto it once we are home and back into some sort of routine.
