Lockdown sapped confidence from lots of us. I’ve had this trip planned for nearly a year and I’ve been unnaturally nervous as it approached.

Train strikes. Passport worker strikes. NHS strikes. Security strikes. It all makes you feel that it’s easier to stay at home.

But we’d miss so much !!

I booked the Hilton Heathrow T4 because we were flying with ITA (son of Alitalia who folded). There’s a linked walkway from here.

And then ITA cancelled the flight. The agent booked us with BA. Different terminal. 

Ah well. I’m assured there’s an early Hopper but if not, the guys will book a taxi.

I’m rather impressed with the hotel. It was outrageously expensive. 

I could have cancelled for free but all they could offer was the Premier Inn for an extra £80. !!!!!!!!!   They are taking the mickey.

Nothing is the same as it used to be.
We’ve just got to adjust.
