Tapas

Easter Monday - rowing in the gig with Epic. I hadn’t rowed for a while so was looking forward to it. Two years after starting we still receive lectures on “the correct way to launch from now on”; juvenile bickering between adults on how things are done. We headed off to the Watersports Centre in Falmouth, tied up alongside, and had coffee. The row back against wind and tide was tougher than usual but I found myself enjoying the exertion. The gigs were recovered, I received a clout over the head with an oar so retired to the tailgate of Bill’s car for a can of lager with him and watched everyone else putting everything away.
I felt quite deflated it hadn’t been the experience I’d expected or had experienced previously but there’ll be other days to enjoy it though.

On the other hand I enjoyed making Mrs S her pre “new job” dinner, a table full of tapas dishes hit the spot, even vegan Sam found a lot to her liking.

Coming to the end of Admiral of the Fleet ‘ABC’ Cunningham’s biography, it’s been a great read, something a bit lighter next though.
