A New Experience
Opps...I forgot to add this last night.
Ellie has been begging me to play soccer so I signed her up and her first practice was today. She was very excited to start and jumped right into the group...but reality set in and she became concerned that she wouldn't "get" it. She ran over to get a hug three times, but I sent her right back into the group. Once she told me that the coach wasn't being fair because the other girl had kicked the ball too far past her, but I explained that the coach was teaching her how the game was played and that her strong suggestion was how a coach worked. She felt like she was told she was terrible at the game, and I had to spend time after practice attempting to boost her confidence and explain the concept of a coach "yelling" instructions to the girls. The first extra is when the coach let her sit by her and watch while the girls played a game (three against three) because she got overwhelmed by the competition. Ellie was the only one with a hat and coat.
Since we had swimming lessons right before the soccer practice she was tired and hungry when we left the soccer field; however, she took time to pick a bouquet of dandelion flowers. :-)))
Oh, by the way, we had over an inch of rain on Monday night so the back nine of the golf course was under water and the road at the bottom of my hill was closed because of flooding. See the second extra photo.
