I don’t think so...!!
I’ve been glued to the Telly all day watching the US President Joe on his first full day of engagement of his 4 day visit..
He spoke eloquently to the people of Belfast this morning as he opened a new wing of Ulster University..
What a lovely man he is..meeting and greeting...smiling and chatting despite the horrendous weather...!
Just now as he stood on the viewing platform of St. John’s Castle in Carlingford looking out to sea at the view his great, great grandfather would have had as he left Irish shores for his new adventure in the United States..
Someone shouted up apologizing for the weather and he answered back....”it’s fine, it’s fine it’s Ireland”....!
Unfortunately he’s not seeing our beautiful countryside as he would do on a fine day..
But as we often say here when everywhere is blotted out by that thick fine mist we’re known for ...”shure it’s a grand soft day”....I have no doubt at all that someone has said that to him today..
A massive security operation in place so let’s hope all continues to go to plan for a safe visit tomorrow in Dublin and Friday in County Mayo..!!
