Whins

Golden Whins on the cliffs above the Burn of Auchmedden where we spent a very pleasant couple of hours watching the seabirds. The nine species included several flypasts of gannets heading to their colony at nearby Troup Head, quarrelsome kittiwakes defending their positions on the cliffs and rafts of dapper eiders.

The banks of the burns were studded with celandines and primroses.
