Sniffing the air

It was still daylight when the badgers arrived this evening. I crept around the side of the house as usual and settled low to the ground with the garden bench for partial cover. I progressed onto the bench and sat the far side, within three feet or so of the badgers who didn't seem worried as long as I kept still. The adults looked up a few times a bit warily, but were content. The babies are blissfully unaware of any danger as yet and completely ignore my presence.

I also managed to take some video tonight - I haven't reviewed it yet but if it passes muster I'll post a link tomorrow night. In the meantime, here are two other shots from tonight: three badgers and two head to head.
