CHANGE OF PLANS

Weather changed plans…yesterday was so glorious we sat out in the garden but in typical British weather style today was a wash out!!!!
We had planned a train trip and a short allotment stint but NO RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!!

Eventually The Rev decided on a trip to Smallhythe in Kent (by coincidence very close to the train trip we planned so we could have done it in the end!!!)

smallhythe was the home of Ellen Terry…amazing woman. First knighted actress who could make £24,000 a week!!!! She was 2nd richest woman after Queen Victoria. She had no education, 3 marriages and 2 illegitimate children but was obviously a very talented actress who mixed with the likes of Oscar Wilde and Henry Irving.

The sun came out on the way home…a quick pub stop on route made a good day.
