Well, we had a lovely time last night with the visitors. And nobody ever gets tired of sushi, even if they’ve just been in Japan for two weeks. JR made her own wee ones she saw on Instagram. They tasted good, but did not look quite as delicate as the ones Mr Waitrose made.
I was horrified, nay - apoplectic, to find that Apple has summarily deleted all my 1,000 - odd songs which were on my old phone, (now JR’s). I thought they were safe there until I tried to upgrade that phone. So I will have to check out paying for Spotify or suchlike, in order to have music on my phone. I’ve got a free three months with Amazon. Of course, you get all your playlists organised, so have to keep up the subscription.
A beautiful sunny morning, but deceptively cold. Though people were out in teeshirts, I was very cold and hadn’t worn my hat. But we did sit and have an ice cream in the Grassmarket, which was absolutely heaving! It’s so nice to see the city humming with happy punters on a sunny day.
I took the bus down, but JR and Archie walked and we met at the ice cream shop. I then took the bus back home while the others walked. I relaxed on the sofa and listened to Sam. I’m really enjoying him - have I mentioned that?
I fear I am losing my voice. A combination of a bit of a cough, yakking too much last night, and getting very cold today. I used to lose my voice regularly while teaching, especially at the start of terms. Of course, I never stayed off, because I wasn’t actually sick. I’d write instructions on the blackboard, and it generally worked. I don’t think you could could do that nowadays - children were better behaved back then.
