Sleeping Magpie

We often get magpies around our area, but they usually fly away when I open the door. I noticed this one perched on the fence and thought I'd try to get a shot of it. I fully expected it to fly away. It didn't. I really was this close for this shot, no zoom. Not sure who'd have got the bigger fright if he'd seen me and flown. He was sound asleep! I managed to creep halfway back to the house without him waking as well. He looked up and round all confused then snuggled back down again. A bit strange really, but I liked him for a blip!


Edit: After I posted this, I went to look out the window. He's still there sat on the fence. I hope he's ok, I took the shot about an hour ago
