Swift nest boxes

The Easter market went very well, lots of customers and I think they went away happy.
Afterwards Lynne invited us for lunch and to finally get her swift nest boxes installed.
This is not the easiest project! They have a little sound box to entice the swift in and this has to be wired in.
Then of course they have to be attached to the wall quite high up. But with two ladders borrowed from neighbour and a useful shelf already fitted with brackets from the man next door, this was achieved!
We had a celebratory cake afterwards and a job well done.
Now we wait for the birds to arrive in May! There is a good colony in Arnside so hopefully some will think this is a great new site..
Unfortunately our own house is not near any existing swift nests and so it would not be possible for us to do the same, I really hope this is successful instead.
