Iceland - Day 1

An early start to get the first train south to London - tube from Kings X to Paddington and then the Heathrow Express to Heathrow Terminal 2. Plenty of tunnels and travelators and sitting and reading to pass the time on the journey. Promptly through passports and security and some time to kill. Met the leader of the school group I am guiding at the entrance to check-in as it happens. Breakfast in my preferred pub in the terminal, then headed for the gate and boarded. Flight was late taking off. Re-watched 'The Banshees of Inisherin' on the flight. Landed and out to meet our driver and load up the coach, then headed around the Reykjanes Peninsula and to the Bridge Between the Continents. A long drive in wet and windy weather to Laugarvatn and our accommodation. Settled in, and got a lovely room with a lake view. All the students were sorted. Evening meal was good. Once all were settled I sat in the library and had a pint of Gull before heading for bed.

On the way to Iceland from Heathrow I flew over this island - put your guess as to which one it is in the comments :)
