The Black Vulture - the nastiest bird you've seen

If you've seen the Jungle Book recently you'll be forgiven for thinking vultures are caring, loveable creatures. Well let me tell you, up close they're not. We took some stuff up to the town tip today, and the place was full of these Black Vultures (Sp. Jote Cabeza Negra, Lat. Coragyps atratus). First thing I did when I got home was have a shower, and not just because of the rubbish on the tip.

But they are all God's creatures I hear you say, and you are right. Birds are neither good nor bad, just trying to get by like we are. It's just they don't look very attractive, poor things, but the fault is surely ours, not the birds. I'll try to blip a more attractive bird tomorrow.
