Kelp Gull (Gaviota Cocinera)

The translation of the Spanish name would be the 'cook' or 'chef' gull, go figure. Known in English as the Kelp Gull and Spanish as the Gaviota Cocinera, its Latin name is Larus dominicanus. It's common around ports (it follows ships) but can also be found at the edge of inland lakes. I shot this at Catitre beach on Lake Lacar - only had time for a quick shot before it lazily flew a hundred metres out into the lake before settling down again, too far for my telephoto lens to be of any use.
