Leaking Ornitorrinco
Having a bit of a hydration problem at the moment. My Camelbak reservoir has sprung a leak. I don't understand any runner or cyclist who doesn't have a hydration bladder as they are so easy to carry and use. Turns out that as it is leak as opposed to a puncture then it is still under warranty and the shop from which I have purchased it is willing to replace it on the strength of this photograph. As per yesterday's Blip, aren't cameras such useful devices? Oh and Ornitorrinco is the Spanish word for Platypus.
Lovely start to the morning today. I had a wee cycle up to meet my #runningbuddy for our last run before he goes off to run the Edinburgh marathon, did a wee 4.5 miler and then cycled home for breakfast. I often give up running outside during the winter mostly due to the awful weather but this year I met with him each Thursday morning at sometime between 5am and 6am for a run regardless of what the weather was up to. In the last couple of months we have also been meeting for a Tuesday morning 10k before Body Step class. I have to say that running with a partner is so much more enjoyable than when you are out by yourself. When I was in the Lake District and went for a 10 mile run, I did enjoy it but it was so much harder to go by myself. Around about the 8 mile mark I started to really feel like giving up (I may have if it wasn't for the fact that it was a circular route). We've signed up for the Great Scottish Run which is a half marathon so that is going to be a new focus and something we can both train for together. Actually quite excited about the process of training for an event. It will also be quite pleasant spending most of this training wearing shorts and running in daylight.
