Thurber and His Throat

One thing I'm going to have to get used to with the new (100-400mm) lens is that I can't get too close to my subject. I was trained on the pelican's eye when he started the "throat thing", and I couldn't adjust to it because he was already filling my frame.

I like the length of the lens for things that are afar, but I probably will end up with something similar to my old 55-250 for mid-length shots.

We are winding down our time in Florida, so I figured I better get a few shots of my favorite bird.
